Program Overview

The 2024 FuSEP Summer Research Program is an initiative by USTC designed to unite outstanding young scientists globally to exchange ideas addressing contemporary world challenges using science and technology. Themed "Science and Technology for a Shared Future," this summer's program at USTC is a convergence of brilliant minds engaging in interdisciplinary research, promising an enriching exploration of boundless science and technology realms. It offers a unique blend of top-tier education, hands-on research opportunities, and an unforgettable summer experience within a multicultural setting, fostering communication, collaboration, and mutual learning among participants.


If you are pursuing studies in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Sciences, Life Sciences, Medicine, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Earth and Space Sciences, and seeking a summer training opportunity, seize the chance to apply for the 2024 FuSEP Summer Research Program now.


Research Projects and Activities

Participate in the USTC FuSEP Summer Research Program, where students will collaborate in experimental teams led by USTC professors on scientific research projects spanning 4-8 weeks. At the program's conclusion, students are expected to submit a brief report on their research work and experience at USTC. Explore potential research groups of interest here.

Fields of Study: Physics, Chemistry, Materials Sciences, Life Sciences, Medicine, Earth and Space Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Science

During this enriching period, engage in specially curated lectures by experts in various fields such as Physics, Chemistry, Materials Sciences, Life Sciences, Medicine, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Earth and Space Sciences. Additionally, delve into visits to national laboratories, prominent research facilities, workshops, and cultural events, all integral components of this program. Detailed schedules for lectures and cultural activities will be provided later; refer to Past Events for insights.

Program Duration

Undergraduates: Flexible duration (4-8 weeks) between July 1st and August 25th, with a minimum 4-week commitment.

Graduates: July 1st to July 30th (1 month).

Eligibility Criteria

Maintain full-time enrollment at your home university during your stay at USTC.

Undergraduates or graduates majoring in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Sciences, Life Sciences, Medicine, Earth and Space Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.

Completion of at least two years of full-time undergraduate studies in the relevant major by Summer 2024.

Demonstrate academic excellence with a CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 'B' or higher.

Proficient in English.

Priority consideration for future degree program sponsorship for international students with program certificates.
